New day, new app in Cydia: dMap. dMap is an alternative to the iPhone native “Maps.” The difference with this is that dMap uses OpenStreetMap database that will return useful information if the native Maps application is unable to find the location you seek.
As soon as you load dMap, a pop-up window will appear and it will ask you if you want to be located. Since we’re talking about maps, i think a smart move would be to choose to be located.
There are 3 buttons on the bottom of the screen that represents shortcuts for:
- Activate the GPS and locate our current position
- Enter the position found in the Favorites
- Go to favorites
By adding our current location to favorites, we will be able to give it a name and contact details change, for greater accuracy. dMap is available in category “GPS navigation” of Cydia through the repository ModMyi.
