If you remember, a few months ago, we talked about how to control uTorrent from your iPhone. Even tho that method was not extremely hard, i dont think it was accessible to everyone. You had to work with html, css and js files and all that, so even tho it created some buzz, most of the people were pretty disappointed.
Well luckily for us, there is a new app in Cydia called uMonitor. uMonitor is an easy to use monitor running on the iPhone for your uTorrent application. What it does is make use of the uTorrent Web UI API to show your current torrents from anywhere you want.
First thing you need to do is to load cydia and add ” http://repo.theiphonebay.org ” source. Than tap on search and look for ” uMonitor ” and install it.
Now enable Web UI on the uTorrent client app installed on your computer. Enter username and password of your choice and check the port for uTorrent.
Load the uMonitor app on iPhone. You will get an error, but dont mind it, tap on OK. Go to Settings tab and enter the details that you set earlier in uTorrent’s Web UI option. IP address is the address of the computer where uTorrent is installed. You can set this to your local network IP to access uTorrent locally, or the public private IP to access it from anywhere in the world.
Thats it! you can now control all the files your computer is downloading right from your iPhone from anywhere in the world!
