Just a few days ago, Apple filed a handful of patents that deal with adding some cool, new features to the camera function of the iPhone and iPad.
Among the numerous changes is one that will allow the user to apply “location-based filtering and distortion.” In layman’s terms, the feature would give someone the opportunity to fix up an image or mess around with it.
Another interesting addition would “display a stabilized image to determine whether it’s well composed. A second image may replace the original image if it’s substantially similar to the stabilized image.”
With five other patents in the works, you should expect to see some major changes in the iPhone and iPad’s camera in the near future.
