Apple Planning TWO New iPhones For This Summer: iPhone HD And A CDMA iPhone

A couple of months form now, it will be 1 year since the iPhone 3Gs was introduced to the public. If Apple follows their usual refresh pattern, soon, we will see… not one but two iPhones according to WSJ. Engadget is reporting that the next-generation iPhone would be announced on June 22nd (a Tuesday, naturally) and would be dubbed the iPhone HD (a name that has been tossed around before).

John Gruber from DaringFireball predicts that the next-generation iPhone will have an A4-class SoC, a 960 x 640 display, a front-facing camera, and that iPhone OS 4.0 will enable third-party multitasking. Predictions that seems just about right, and John was pretty much right with his predictions in the past.

Ok, are you blown away yet? Excited? Well, it seems that AT&T’s monopoly will end this summer as well. Apple is working on a CDMA iPhone (exact model not disclosed), which will be released this September but it is hard to say who will get his hands on this baby: Verizon or Sprint.

Given the sources of this rumors, they should be golden, but these are rumors non-the-less. Either way, the new product(s) should revolve around this specs…
