When Apple Maps app was unveiled, it came with the claim that their maps were “the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever.” Regardless of how the feature performed, that’s an awful hard statement to back up since everything has its flaws.
After Apple CEO Tim Cook confessed that their maps aren’t so great, the company’s website changed their tune as well, going from “All of which may just make this app the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever” to “All in a beautiful vector-based interface that scales and zooms with ease.”
After Cook’s apology, and pointing users toward the likes of Bing and MapQuest in the app store, this last bit of language-changing definitely seems fitting. And accurate.
