Ever since Apple released the SDK and every single one of us can get a piece of that appstore pie, it’s like a gold rush. I bet you’ve seen a lot of stories on the www on how much an average dev makes off the appstore , and we covered it a little bit as well. But the thing is that not everybody is looking for money and fame in the appstore. Some people actually find the time to care about other human beings and they use this amazing platform because of its huge popularity: meet samasource.
Samasource and Crowdflower present Give Work, their new iPhone application. Give Work lets you support refugees in Dadaab, Kenya—the world’s largest refugee site—in minutes by completing short, on-screen tasks.
So basically when you complete an on-screen task the same task is assigned to a refugee in Kenya. Once the task in complete and verified, the refugee gets paid.
By spending as little as 5 minutes / day you can provide ( as you can see in the pic above ) 1 tomato, 1 large (?!?!) banana and a small bunch of greens. The app is free in the appstore and if you wish to contribute even more you can place a donation on the official website.
We truly encourage you to use this app, because we live among humans all day long, and it is always nice to give a helping hand to the ones that need it. For more info please check the official website.
