So you want a Gold Apple Watch but you’re broke? Don’t worry, you can transform your stainless steel Apple Watch into a Gold Apple Watch on the cheap. One way is to spray paint it gold. Check out how to do it here. The other method, is also DIY, it costs a bit more but under $100 and it allows you to plate your steel Apple Watch with 24K gold.
Chemist Eic Knowll created a DIY kit packed with all the necessary ingredients to transform any Steel Apple Watch into a 24K Gold one. The plating process invoices chemically binding the elements to the stainless steel surface of the watch via electrochemistry. Basically you connect the watch to an electric current and brush on the solution that consists of water and dissolved gold.
