One of iPhone 6s‘ feature is that now users can trigger Siri by simply saying Hey Siri, and thanks to the new M9 motion coprocessor the functionality works even when the device is not plugged in without having a massive impact on the battery.

You might ask yourself, but what about there’s a bunch of people in the room and someone summons Siri, will your phone answer right away? No, because the feature relies on individualized voice recognition. That means that Siri will only be triggered by your voice.

NOTE: Hey Siri is turned off by default. To activate the feature go to Settings > General > Siri > “Allow ‘Hey Siri’”
