We’ve seen cars integrating Siri before ( see Mercedes-Benz and Chevy ), but no car has created so much hype as the new collaborative work between Apple and Volkswagen. The German car manufacturer announced on Monday at the Shanghai Auto Show it’s partnering with Apple for the launch of the iBeetle Coup and iBeetle Convertible, two vehicles which fully integrate with the iPhone.
Featured in the collaboration are all the comforts and reliability of a VW paired against the intuitive technology from Cupertino’s tech giant. A newly designed docking station and special iPhone application are integrated into the dashboard allowing for the use of relevant apps in what could very well be the first step toward a new driving experience.
