Since it first went on sale last Friday, Apple has announced that it sold three million new iPads worldwide— far more than it did over the debut weekend of previous versions of the tablet.
The massive sales are due in part to the new iPad’s simultaneous launch in several countries around the world, including the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and others. The iPad 2, which was a US exclusive at launch, sold just 1 million in its first weekend, and was at the time rightfully considered a big hit.
The new iPad is set to hit 24 more countries next week, so don’t expect this thing to slow down.
