Jony Ive‘s and Marc Newson‘s special edition Leica M will be joined by customized Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces from the two designers at Sotheby’s (RED) Auction in New York to benefit The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria this November.
The collaboration features a Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea wristwatch alongside an Atmos 561 Clock – both created from the ground up especially for the aution. While the watch is reminiscent of the original European version of the Deep Sea thanks to a black dial, the Atmos 561 – initially designed by Newson himself back in 2008 – sees a Baccarat crystal bubble housing an Atmos movement powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s proprietary bellows-like technology from 1928.
Naturally, both pieces come with special red accents throughout. Like the Leica M, both custom Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces will be available from Sotheby’s as it kicks off the (RED) Auction at its New York headquarters on November 23.
