I’m sure that you’ve all heard that you can jailbreak your Playstation 3 now, and you can do it using an iOS device. We don’t know a lot about the subject, BUT since you are curious about it ( yeah, we read all emails even if we don’t always reply ) and it’s an iOS device involved, we decided to do a lil’ bit of research, and report what we found out. Hope this will help, or at least give you a head-start…
A hacker by the name of NTAuthority ported PSGroove (github) / PSFreedom exploit over to iOS devices, using OpeniBoot which previously, was also used for porting Android OS to iPhones. This works with jailbroken iPhone 2G/3G and iPod Touch 1G ( OpenSSH installed ) , and you will need:
- Vmware Player
- Ubuntu 10.04
- OpeniBoot
- PS3freedom for iPod Touch
- WinSCP
- iFunbox
Download links and step by step tutorial can be found here.
NOTE: If you can do this, you already know what you’re doing, but we have to warn people that Sony might ban modded consoles from the PlayStation Network ( PSN ).
