Using ultrasound technology, Elliptic Labs’ dock for the iPad creates a “touchless zone” around the tablet that detects the user’s hand motions. The technology is similar to the motion controls that come with Kinect and a similar demo had been portrayed by the company during the IFA in September 2010.
But it was on an unbranded device that they experimented with but now they are making news by making it ready with a prototype model for the most famous and iconic tablet of the world.
Elliptic Labs states its dock uses is “low cost” and uses “low power and low CPU.” Sure, we’ll see how low it all is at next month’s CES.
