For those of you that were waiting on an iOS 8+ jailbreak, the Pangu Team released it today. That’s good news, but it is only available for Windows and comes without Cydia. The tool was meant for developers, granting SSH access. Here’s the even better news. Saurik released an updated version of Cydia that can be installed manually after you jailbreak your iOS device.
You will need:
- iOS 8/8.1 jailbreak
- Cydia.deb
How to install .deb:
1. Use FileZilla to SSH into your device ( username: root , password: alpine )
2. Copy the deb file into /tmp/
3. via Terminal or equivalent sudo root@your-device-ip > alpine > dpkg -i /tmp/cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm
This is all great news but, we would advise you to wait. First of all most cydia packages will not work with iOS 8+. Second of all, Pangu will be update to include Cydia anyway.
But just rest assured that a full jailbreak is on its way…
