Apple has announced today a new, smaller iPad Pro. A 9.7-inch display iPad Pro that weighs less than one pound and has the same size as the iPad Air 2.
iPad Pro display is 40% less reflective than the iPad Air 2’s screen and 25% brighter. It features a new technology that Apple calls “True Tone Display” which measures the color temperature of the ambient light and adjust the iPad’s display to match.
The new, smaller iPad Pro is powered by the A9X processor and comes with a four-speaker system just like its big brother. It features a 12MP rear camera, focus pixels, dual-tone flash and Live Photos. If you’re into iPad selfies, the new Pro offers the screen flash that Apple introduced on the iPhone last year.
Of course Apple will be also selling a smaller version of the Smart Keyboard to fit the new iPad Pro as well as the Apple Pencil and a new lighting-powered SD card reader and USB camera Adapter.
The new iPad Pro will be available in gold, rose gold, space grey and silver.
It will set you back $599 for a 32GB, $749 for 128GB and $899 for 256GB. And that’s just for the the Wi-Fi only models. If you want the Wi-Fi + LTE add another $130-ish.
The pre-orders for the new iPad Pro will start on March 24th and will be available on March 31st.
