Update: Fixing Youtube.app on Hacktivated iPhones

As you know, the unlock for the new 5.11.07 baseband is out thanks to Geohot putting in the time to use an exploit from ih8sn0w. This is great news for all those folks that had happy upgrade fingers and locked themselves right outta service. It’s also the solution for OTB( out of the box) iPhones with 3.1.2 and the new baseband.

This good news is not without trouble though. See, when you don’t use an official carrier sim to activate your device, you have to “hactivate”, and that in turn breaks a few things. Things like push notification and the YouTube.app and even GPS and WiFi. But, as always there is a work around. We told you about resetting your network settings for the WiFi issue (here) and the YouTube fix is pretty easy too.

Just add the source http://iphoneil.net to cydia from Manage/sources/edit/add. Go to search, search and install “Push Fix”. Then re-boot. Easy enough. This should take care of any of your YouTube issues on your hacktivated iPhone. Some people are reporting this also fixes the GPS and Push notification troubles that some have been having. Let us know if it works for you in the comments.

UPDATE: it has come to our attention push fix breaks exchange, you can unistall pushfix, and exchange will work again.
