Use LionDiskMaker To Create an OS X Mountain Lion Installation Boot DVD or USB Drive

Today, Apple has released the latest and greatest OS for Macs: OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Users can update a Mac right out of the App Store, but what if you need/want to install it on multiple Macs without redownloading the OS on each Mac, or you want to perform a fresh install?

Using LionDiskMaker, you can create a bootable DVD or USB drive in just a few clicks…

You need:

  • the latest version of LionDiskMaker ( free )
  • 4.7 GB or larger blank DVD and SuperDrive OR
  • USB drive or SD card with at least 8 GB free

Download OS X Mountain Lion Installer for the Mac App Store and launch LionDiskMaker. It will locate the installer app, extract the disk image, and then make the boot disk. It’s about as simple as it gets.

Enjoy!
