A Userland Jailbreak For iPhone 3Gs With New Bootrom To Drop After iOS 4.2 Is Released

Yesterday, we told you that greenpois0n – the first jailbreaking tool that will use the SHAtter exploit – will be released on Sunday. Unfortunately, the tool will only work on devices with an A4 chip ; so basically you can use it only if you have an  iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch 4 and AppleTV 2G.

Luckily, the Chronic DevTeam is not the only one working on a jailbreaking tool at the moment, and a userland jailbreak for iPhone 3Gs ( new bootrom ) will be released, but only after Apple will drop iOS 4.2 scheduled for next month. The tool will be probably similar to Spirit.

If you have an iPhone 3Gs with old bootrom, you can jailbreak it using sn0wbreeze ( Windows ) , or unofficial PwnageTool bundle ( Mac ) .

We will keep you updated. Stay tuned…
